Taking the path less traveled…Technical Diving with IVS!

This is where it all begins…taking the properly prepared, and truly committed, diver to diving experiences beyond what the industry considers to be ‘the recreational limits of scuba diving’, that magic 13o ft depth line.

While there’s no denying that there’s plenty to see and enjoy within the realm of recreational diving, the fact of the matter is that there is even more to see and do beyond that.  Nearly every major shipwreck lies in deeper water, and many of the activities we enjoy, like photography and hunting, for example, are better enjoyed with more time on our hands.  And this often leads to finding ourselves needing great amounts of breathable gas, better mental clarity (avoiding narcosis), and with a compulsory decompression profile before we can return to the surface.  Here is the basis for a solid education in Technical Diving.

The  Intro to Technical Diving program prepares the diver to be able to look forward to planning and executing technical dives by ensuring they have the skills, mindset, gear setups and knowledge necessary to safely enjoy tec diving in whichever format they choose.  This course is a mandatory prerequisite to partaking in actual technical dives, and serves to make sure that the diver is truly ready to take that step, because once you’ve crossed the line into a technical dive, there are no shortcuts or ways to safely cheat on your obligations, such as mandatory decompression.

We continue with gear considerations and configurations, gas options, further developing a ‘dive team’ mentality, severing the ties to the old ‘dive buddy’ concept…these are just some of the key components that make up this unique, fun and rewarding series of programs at Indian Valley Scuba.

And it all starts here – with a solid foundation that you’ll learn in IVS’s Technical Diving Fundamentals program!

Tec 100 - Intro to Technical Diving

Technical

The Intro to Tech course is the perfect course for divers who have heard about technical diving and want to find out more about this exciting branch of diving, while staying inside of recreational diving limits. This course walks students through the special techniques, planning procedures and skills that set technical diving apart from traditional sport diving. It will show them how to improve their dive planning methods, buoyancy control, in-water skills and proper gear configurations, in a non-threatening and fun learning environment. The skills learned during this course will increase the student’s self-confidence and notably decrease anxiety as divers move forward through the technical diving courses. Includes PADI Tec 40 and TDI Advanced Nitrox, along with SDI Solo Diver and PADI Self-Reliant Diver, if qualified.
